Wake Up and Smell the Cold-Pressed Coffee
(You Won’t Be Able to Resist It!)
1 pound regular grind, organic coffee and 12 cups cold water
(we recommend EN Buzz, our custom house blend)
Mix coffee and water in a large bowl or jar. Let sit, without refrigerating, for 36 hours. Strain the grounds using a 3-quart strainer lined with moist coffee filters. Scoop grounds onto filters to hold them in place. Run the remaining liquid through the grounds, saving the strained liquid in a jar or jars. The strained liquid is the coffee extract. A few of the finer grounds will fall through, but they will settle to the bottom of the extract. Remember, coffee made this way digests like a fruit!
To make one cup of coffee, taking into consideration cup size, exact strength, and personal taste, place 1~4 tablespoons of extract into a cup and add boiling water. To store, refrigerate the extract in a jar or freeze in ice cube trays. Servings depend on usage per cup.

Be a Great Barista at Home Using These Tips
The recipe above results in great hot coffee, yet it works just as well when iced for warmer weather. The following tips work well with hot or iced coffee.
· Freeze coffee concentrate to make ice for your coffee. As they melt, they won’t dilute the taste.
· Pour the concentrate you’ve created into a tall glass, filling it 2 to 3 inches from the bottom. Then top it off with water, milk, or an alternative beverage, such as hemp, almond, rice or soy milk. Of the last four beverage choices, hemp is the creamiest.
· Keep coffee beans out of the refrigerator and freezer, which can cause the moisture to rise and negatively affect the taste. Instead, store in an airtight container in your cabinet or pantry.
· Use coarse, rather than fine, grounds to soak overnight. Coarse grinds are easy to strain. Save paper by using a fine mesh strainer, rather than a coffee filter.
· Chemicals in tap water may affect the taste of the water you’re adding to your coffee extract. Use filtered water (we recommend filters by New Wave Enviro – please ask our staff to learn more about the available filter systems).
· Cold-pressed coffee extract tends to taste sweeter than traditionally made coffee. If you crave more sweetness, try using syrup, honey, or even cocoa powder for an easy-to-dissolve additive that may also give you a flavor boost. Our favorite natural sweetener is Madhava Pure Organic Agave Nectar.
· Want a little spice? Add cinnamon and top with Natural by Nature whipped cream (we like Tru Whip for a non-dairy whipped topping).
